Who Should I be Talking To?
Who Should I be Talking To?
Episode 14 - Nashville's Rachel Gladstone chats about her path as a Humorist, Author, Songwriter and Wedding Planner
Rachel Gladstone was referred by Patricia Conroy for this episode and what a treat it was to chat with her. Here is a bio from her website http://rachelgladstone.net/
Starting her career as a bohemian backpacker who hiked across Europe and ended up singing backup for Arlo Guthrie and David Bromberg, Rachel eventually brought her musical and songwriting talent to Nashville. Taking Music City to her heart, she wrote songs with leading artists such as Rosie Flores and landed her own acclaimed “All Booked Up” book-review column for the international online women’s magazine Dishmag.com. Her previous writings have appeared in the Nashville Scene, Nashville Lifestyles magazine,Ourselves, Foundations, and GX. Her “funny side of divorce” blog, The Petty Chronicles, enjoyed 30,000 die-hard reader-fans, as does her current go-to blogging for DivorcedMoms.com.
In our chat we discuss the process that happens for her when she is busy writing a novel, including a little sneak peak at the concept for one in the works! She has a wonderful back story on living life to the fullest and truly working with her gifts.
A couple recommendations from Rachel in regards to her favourite authors:
Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
Jojo Moyes - Author
Rachel highly recommends anything by Jennie Fields, and specifically referenced her newest book Atomic Love.
Of course, the number one book recommendation from this podcast in my opinion, would be for you listeners to pick up The Weekend Wedding Assistant (my copy should be here today!)
Just a couple of the many songs that Rachel has songwriting credits on with the one and only Rosie Flores!
Simple Case of the Blues
Little But I'm Loud
As always, big thanks to all the listeners and to the guests. This has been a wonderful experience thus far!
